【Discontinued】 Rice Freshness Analyzer RN-820

The Rice Freshness Analyzer RN-820, also known as “Freshness Meister,” was developed jointly by KETT and the Japan Grain Inspection Association to evaluate the freshness of polished rice objectively using pH indicator technology and image analysis.

The analyzer measures the freshness of individual rice kernels by capturing images of rice treated with a pH indicator reagent and analyzing them using dedicated software. The results are presented as numerical values and graphical data, allowing users to evaluate freshness variations within a sample.

The RN-820 evaluates 72 rice kernels in approximately 10 minutes. Results include freshness classification, average pH values, individual kernel measurements, and statistical graphs. The acquired image data can also be saved for quality control, documentation, and comparison between samples.

Note: This product has been discontinued by KETT. Repair service in Japan ended in December 2019. No direct replacement is currently available in KETT’s product lineup.

Key Features

  • Objective Rice Freshness Evaluation — Evaluates rice freshness using pH indicator technology and image processing.
  • Individual Kernel Analysis — Analyzes each rice kernel rather than evaluating the entire sample as a single measurement.
  • Freshness Classification — Classifies results according to freshness grading criteria, with customizable grading levels.
  • Graphical Data Analysis — Displays pH distribution graphs and histograms for easier interpretation.
  • Statistical Results — Provides average pH values, individual kernel measurements, and sample statistics.
  • Image Data Storage — Saves acquired image data for documentation and quality management.
  • Dedicated Analysis Software — Processes scanned images and presents measurement results on a computer.
